About a Bean
I get my best ideas while I'm in the shower. Well, they seem pretty fantastic when I'm thinking up said ideas. In this case, this is an idea I've thrown around for a while. That's right, for like two months...shower after shower, I've been thinking, " What a great day it would be to start a blog with some of the random and hilarious thoughts I have." I typically proceed to think of random things that I can share, that sound entertaining or informative, until I am out of the shower and fully dressed. Then, I go about my day and forget that the thought to write down my thoughts was ever even a thought.
So here I am today, actually starting.
I should probably start out introducing myself...The crazy person behind the keyboard that is known as Me, Beans.
My name is Jillian. As most people know, when one is named Jillian or Jill, the nickname a lot of times ends up being Jilly Bean. This just so happens to be a typical case of that, or as my husband would probably say, a typical case of the Beans. Not only has that name followed me through my entire 37 years of existence, it has become an actual part of who I am. It is what people know me as. Jilly Bean, JilliBean, Beanie, Beans, Beans-o-saurus Rex...you get it. My husband, who gave me the name Beans (also with the Rex addition), refers to everything I do in a Bean fashion. My behaviors are explained as Beansing, Beany, Beanariffic, Beantastic, Bean stuff, typical Bean moves...the list goes on. In our lives here at home, I am everything, and nothing is a surprise.
Not only am I a Bean, I am a mom and a wife. I have a tweenage daughter named Jasmine, a teenage son named Dominic, and an almost adult son named Sabastian. My husband's name is Corey, and we reside at Fort GrizzlyBeans. We have two dogs name Luna and Diesel , two big orange cats named Sid and Waffles, two big fat goldfish named Bob and Tom, a plecco named Pickle, a platy named Pikachu, two Ball Pythons named Adam and Eve, a crazy Lovebird named Maverick, and a baby Iguana named Tinysaurus Rex (we just call it Rex for now). I'm sure as the time goes on I will talk about them a lot, so I may as well talk a tiny bit about the humans in my life so you know who I am talking about most of the time. We'll cover the creatures later.
👑Jasmine is my drama queen. She's 12, in 6th grade, and usually the center of drama. She is, socially speaking, everything I was not as a little girl. She is one of the most intelligent kids in her whole class. She blows academic tests out of the water at high school levels, and was the only student in her class to not only learn trigonometry this year, but she got to teach it to other students as well. She is a beautiful girl, and very loving and sweet. She loves to goof around and laugh, but she is also very sensitive. How she entertains SO MUCH drama....is completely beyond me. Every day is new with that girl.
🥜Dominic is my peanut. He's a 15 year old freshman that is the complete social opposite of Jasmine. Dom is very laid back and does not care for drama, confrontation, or a lot of people. Dom is also very intelligent, has always excelled in school, has an adorable girl friend, and plays bass guitar and trumpet. He is also a wrestler, and has mentioned doing track this year.
👓Sabastian is my mini-me. He is 17 and graduating in just a few months. Like me, he is a social butterfly, or the life of the party. He is very intelligent also, but only applies himself to what he needs to, because it's not fun to always have to be the smart one. Seabass is also an athlete, and does football, wrestling, and track. After graduation, he will still be wrestling in college.
Expect a lot of bragging about these kids. I am my children's most crazed fan.
🐻And last but not least, Corey, the Grizzly Bear. He is my usually-toddler-like husband. He works in a testing facility for a paper company, and does experiments all day. Corey, like Dom, doesn't do drama or confrontation. He likes everything to be hilarious....all of the time, and has a pretty dry sense of humor a lot of the time. I'm damn sure we'll get more into him at a different time.
Aside from being a Bean, a mom, and a wife, I'm a person. Yeah, I do peopley things too. I am an affiliate for a company named My Daily Choice, and I market and promote our HempWorx products. My hobbies include ALL THE THINGS. I also love the sunshine, plants, animals, outside stuff, being warm, and eating ice cream. One of my favorite past-times is scaring people, but I don't mean to be an ass on purpose (although I don't suppose I can intentionally scare someone on accident). There's just so much satisfaction in the reactions I get...
I spend the majority of my time doing something with plants. I have hundreds of plants inside my home, and two separate gardens in my yard when it's warm. I have my own grow room in my basement, and I like to start my plants from seed. I also mix my own soils, I compost, and I do everything as organic as possible. In the fall I make things and can them. I also love to take a lot of pictures.
Unfortunately, being peopley sometimes equals bad peopley things like brokenness and disease. I have a bunch of that stuff too. Because of it, I don't get out of the house much because it's too much to deal with. I have a few autoimmune diseases that tend to piggy back off of each other. When I'm miserable, I'm as miserable as you can imagine. Those things cause other things to happen, and before you know it your body hates you for weeks. But, it is what it is....so I'll complain about that when I get to it another day.
I was also diagnosed with ADHD as a teenager. We wont get too involved with that because it hasn't ruled my life or anything. Just know that I do become easily bored, distracted, forgetful, and sidetracked. I have a bad habit of never finishing anything I start, and staying on topic is never easy. Sometimes I don't mean things to sound the way I say them. Don't expect too much professionalism or perfection in anything I blog about.
The purpose of this is for people to have something real to read, and for me to be able to share things that I feel like sharing without having an audience that I can see. Because you can't really have conversations on Facebook anymore without all of the drama, gossip, and negativity. I want to talk to real people that actually care about something more than arguing about politics, posting memes, or taking a quiz to see what percentage angel they are, or who your celebrity look-alike is. Nobody wants to have real conversations that matter anymore......
I do! I like to talk, but I have nobody to listen. Nobody to give me opinions or advice. Nobody to listen to or give my own advice and opinions to. Nobody to just shoot the shit with. So, I'm going to try this blog thing and see how it feels. I'm going to try my hardest to stick with it ( I really suck at that) and actually write down my thoughts for others to read. I hope I meet a few people along the way that enjoy my antics and want to read whatever I ramble about. If not, at least I got my thoughts out of my head so I can read about them and laugh later. I like to laugh, so I'm not tolerant of hateful or negative remarks....just so ya know. 😉
